Season 3 of Good Witch premiered on April 30, 2017, on Hallmark Channel.

Synopsis[]

In season three, Cassie (Catherine Bell) and Sam (Golden Globe® winner James Denton) navigate the waters of their new relationship, including dealing with the reactions of their kids, Grace (Bailee Madison) and Nick (Rhys Matthew Bond). Cassie continues to work her special brand of magic to help her family, friends and even the guests who come through the doors of Grey House.[1]

Abigail continues getting the same delivery over and over until she recognizes the value she provides the community. And when Grace doesn’t bother to study when her history test gets postponed, she learns she wasn’t as ready for it as she thought.

The whole town is caught up in romance when Cassie helps Ben find an old film for him to show an opening night of the refurbished Middleton Theater – a classic romance from the ‘30s: “How to Say, I Love You!” – which proves to be a meaningful title. Meanwhile, Martha has overextended herself with the town budget and there is no money left in the extra expenditure account, but when Grace discovers a long-forgotten benevolent fund she saves the day.

When a visiting chef is unable to relax as she promised herself and instead wreaks havoc on the Grey House kitchen, Cassie arranges for her to spend a whole day at the stove stirring a special recipe to quiet her mind. Grace is presented with the Merriwick Wish Book for her birthday and encouraged to make an entry, and she learns a little more about what her mother and cousin were like when they were her age.

Abigail, jealous of all the attention Cassie gets from helping her customers, decides to sell “special” Venezuelan chocolates at her flower shop. When the chocolates are a hit and everyone in town seems in a better mood because of them, she can’t help but continue to cut corners. Though Liam’s son Noah and Nick used to be friends, it’s clear when Noah arrives that Nick isn’t interested in staying friends. Nick won't tell Grace why and suggests she stay away from Noah herself. And when Brandon and Tara decide they’re not going to fight anymore, a dinner at the Tinsdales’ changes their whole perspective.

Cassie gives withdrawn, traveling artist Harrison Boyd a new paintbrush and invites him to stay at Grey House. The paintings he creates are of events that haven’t yet occurred but invariably come to fruition. He leaves Grey House appreciative and with his work complete but leaves behind a cryptic painting that features everyone behaving in curious ways. Cassie also arranges for her and Sam to organize the Tri-Cities Healthfest and Sam reluctantly agrees, though their contrasting styles are a bit of an obstacle. But they put Healthfest on hold when they discover many of their patients and customers are experiencing the same illness so Sam and Cassie work together to get to the root of the problem.

Cassie decides to plan a surprise party for Sam to celebrate the anniversary of his move to Middleton. Even after Sam catches on and it looks like he’s not thrilled about it, Cassie manages to surprise him in an unexpected way. Grace (with some urging from Abigail) decides to use her powers to create situations where she and Noah can get together but Nick keeps showing up and getting in the way.

Cassie discovers Pavla, a 10-year-old girl, playing in the bushes at Grey House. She is hiding from her adoptive parents, Eddie and Marla, who could use a little help from Cassie and Abigail as they forge their new family. Meanwhile, Martha announces that her son Michael is getting married. He and his fiancée Vanessa want a simple wedding and Martha needs some gentle reminders from Cassie to not go overboard. Meanwhile, Sam’s sister Joanne arrives for an unexpected visit, though she doesn't seem like herself.

Not Getting Married Today: Part 2

After learning from Sam’s sister that he doesn’t plan on marrying again, Cassie takes a sojourn to Chicago to clear her head and meet with an old friend. When Sam finds out, he impulsively (and uncharacteristically) heads off to track her down. Meanwhile, the wedding planning has gotten out of control. A frustrated Michael and Vanessa are fed up with their overbearing mothers and call the wedding off. The town rallies together to pull off the lovely and simple ceremony the bride and groom desired, and Sam and Cassie find themselves face-to-face with their own future.
